How to Prepare

When we start dealing with expeditions the scale of operations increases manifold. We are preparing for big adventure now. It sure would help if you on your side can do a little homework before embarking on one of our trips.

Listed here are a few guidelines:

Knowledge of the place

Prior knowledge of the place helps. Do a little bit of light reading about the river, the region, and the locals on the net.

Fitness Levels

River Expeditions are not like the ones on the mountains where your fitness makes a big difference. On the river it's a different ball game. We are a team of around 6 to 8 people in a raft and all we do is flow with the water. Each of us hold a paddle and follow the commands of the guide. Our main job: Paddling. period. Forward and backward. Now figure out what kind of fitness levels are required. The fitter you are the more enjoyable the voyage would be.

Good fitness always makes a difference ... if not nothing to worry!

Things to Carry

"He who would travel happily must travel light.”

This applies more so on a river expedition. We carry everything to be self sufficient for the whole stretch we spend on the river on our rafts. Most of the places there is no road support between the 'put-in' and 'take-out' points of the rafts. Hence it becomes very important to travel as light as possible but still carry all the essentials.

During the whole expedition you would not require anything other than the following listed.

A brief indicator on what to carry:
